We Offer Children’s Winter Break Art Classes
If you’re looking for things to do over winter break to keep your kids entertained and engaged, you should consider our winter break art camp. This art camp will be a delightful experience for kids from 1st grade through 6th grade. We have two groups of kids – 1st through 3rd graders and 4th through 6th graders – so that they get the age-appropriate activities they deserve while hanging out with kids their own ages.
While some might think that art is just a frivolous activity or an outlet for creative expression, it has so many hidden perks for folks of all ages – including kiddos. Art is a fun way for kids as young as three to develop fine motor skills. It also helps children learn how to communicate their feelings and ideas in a unique way. These are skills that will serve kids for the rest of their lives.
Beyond the social, emotional, and physical benefits, art has a positive impact on children’s cognitive development as well. While it might not seem like it in the midst of a painting session or a coloring page, art helps younger children explore the world around them and expand their senses. It allows older children to learn how to make decisions and turn inward toward self-reflection. Overall, it gets children more in touch with the world around them and the thoughts and feelings within them.
Whether your child looks forward to art class during the school day or has barely picked up a crayon in their life, he or she will benefit greatly from filling winter break with winter break art camp in our studio. For younger children, we focus on playing with new materials, so they have plenty of variety for their senses to explore.
For older kid campers, we also make sure that they are exposed to a wide range of artistic materials. Since they are more capable of learning more advanced techniques in art, we also work on introducing them to fun new ways of creating art, such as Zentangling, mixed media, optical illusions, and so much more. No matter what your child’s age or skill level with art, he or she will walk away from our winter art camp with cool new projects to show you and a fresh sense of creativity.
Of course, you don’t have to be a kid during winter break to come and enjoy our artistic experiences and events.
We offer art classes for any age or artistic experience, whether you're a child, teen, or adult. Our sessions provide all of the supplies needed, including smocks, canvases, paint, and brushes. The Artsy Backyard provides beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes, with introductions to painting and drawing, pre-K fun, and baby music classes! Our artistic workshops offer paint-your-pet, leatherwork, cartoon, and plant-painting events. For private parties, you can customize your session for any occasion — we regularly host birthdays, fundraisers, get-togethers, and bachelorette parties.
